Helen Love
Financial Advisor Managing Partner, Mt. Garfield Wealth Management GroupHelen has been a financial advisor since May 1991, having started with A.G. Edwards in downtown Grand Junction. After its acquisition by Wells Fargo Advisors, Helen joined with Chuck, Linda, Richard, Linda and Josh and has practiced in a team setting for 15 years. It has been transformational to have the support and sounding board a team supplies.
Helen grew up the fourth of five kids, in Davenport, Iowa. She graduated with a BA in government from Smith College (Northampton, Massachusetts) in 1973 and moved to Grand Junction in 1978. After accounting studies at Mesa State College, she became a certified public accountant in 1991. In 2015, she put her CPA license in “retired” status. While she no longer practices as a CPA, her background in tax has always informed her work as a financial advisor.
She has two grown sons, Jim and Tom, who live with their families in Denver and Boston respectively. Her husband, Arvid Koppang, is retired and keeps the family well fed with his grill and smoker.
After many years of service on boards at HopeWest, Helen currently serves on the board of the Colorado West Land Trust.
